Voice4OlderWomen aims to increase awareness and provide financial aid to older Australian women in housing crisis.
Over 400,000 older women are homeless in Australia – but this number doesn’t include “hidden women” who don’t publicly declare their vulnerability.
Voice4OlderWomen is on a mission to remove barriers (within planning and development guidelines and legislation) and enable new solutions to increase the supply of safe, affordable, appropriate and secure homes for vulnerable women over the age of 50.
A priority is the removal of financial services barriers (including the existence of discrimination and financial exclusion towards senior women), encourage fair assessment of loan applications (which satisfy requirements of the Responsible Lending Guidelines) and resurrect Financial Inclusion Action Plans within the financial services industry with effective application.
Voice4OlderWomen also provides financial aid to single older women to assist with their bond or deposit, removalists costs, furniture, electrical and white goods, and household items.
Our amazing team of regulars and part-time volunteers are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? Get in touch for more information!
